The First of Many – by Maire McMahon

I have an eclectic personal style that I know inevitably will translate across my writing and the content of my posts. If you know me personally, you know sarcasm is my second language. However, on this blog, I plan to maintain both directness and objectiveness with my readers… with a little Maire spin too, of course. (You will come to learn I refer to myself in third person often.) I plan to bring you a well-balanced variety of content including exclusive interviews with key industry players, event coverage, informative how-to’s, trend reporting/analysis, opinion pieces and more.

I found out a very young age that fashion makes me happy. I hate cliches (which you will come to find out as well), but fashion is art. However my love runs deeper than just clothing or my ‘#OOTD’– it’s rooted in my true admiration and respect for the industry itself. The fashion industry is one of the oldest in existence and remains one of the toughest and most exclusive to break into, keep up with and remain apart of.

My professional experience in the fashion industry ranges from everything from retail, to wholesale, merchandising, buying, public relations and styling. I’d like to say I’ve tried my hand in just about everything except designing. (Confession: I’ve never been able to work a sewing machine.)

I cannot begin to harness my excitement for this blog. RAGTRADE Atlanta has been the most exciting project I have ever worked on. I am so honored I was invited to join the founding committee almost two years ago. We are truly making history.

Talk to y’all soon. (Oh yeah, I say y’all.)
