Zachary is a native of Raleigh, North Carolina. Growing up in the south with an older sister active in the pageant world, Zachary’s interest in fashion started at an early age. But it wasn’t until he watched his sister’s wedding dress develop from sketch to reality that he knew becoming a designer was the dream he wanted to pursue.  Zachary graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design in November of 2013. Since then, he has shown his FW ’14 collection at Charleston Fashion Week in the emerging designer category. He is currently doing personal cliental work while making the vision for his FW ’15 collection come to life. He resides in Savannah, Georgia.

Zachary Howell’s design philosophy can easily be described as Dark Paradise. Zachary has been influenced and inspired by varying psychoses of the mind and dysfunctions that twist the norms into exaggerated forms. Twisting seamed lines around the body, his specific brand of evening wear finds itself emerging from the locked away secrets kept hidden from the rest of world. Zachary’s muse is a woman twisted from her Bacchic excesses. This woman exists in her own world, centered within the comforts of the world known to the majority. He  introspectively referenced his interests in tragedies and traumatic events from history that have shaped many psychological archetypes in the human mind.
