What is Le Fashion Lab?

Founded in August 2009, Le Fashion Lab is a fashion-design school specializing in preparing emerging designers to build their fashion businesses from the ground up. Our exclusive 1, 1.5 and 2-year programs are specially curated and streamlined to offer our students all the design, technical and business skills needed to launch their fashion brands.

We are proud to #DisruptFashionEducation by offering our students a never-before-seen opportunity to learn the skills needed to launch their fashion brands in way less time and with less financial constraints than previously possible through a traditional college program.

In other words …

Say goodbye to student loan debt.

Say goodbye to unnecessary prerequisite classes.

Say hello to the future of fashion education.

Who is Le Fashion Lab?

The Le Fashion Lab Fashion School team is led by Nicola Watson – founder and President.

Nicola holds a Masters of Arts Degree in Fashion from the Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD), graduating with a 3.9+ GPA. She’s worked as an Apparel Fashion Designer for Target and Abercrombie, where she’s designed 7-figure brands and developed a thorough understanding of the numerous business and design components needed to run a successful fashion brand.

Nicola has also helped launch two startup fashion design brands in Atlanta, GA, taking both concepts from idea to actualization, including final samples and trade shows.

Additionally, Watson worked as the Fashion Instructor for SCAD’s Community Education Department for over three years, Adjunct Faculty in the Art/Fashion Department of Clark Atlanta University, and has been featured as a Guest Lecturer of the Fashion & Marketing Department of Bauder College. She is also the author of “Fashion Designer Career Guide: Insider Tips for Fashion Career Planning.”

A certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Nicola started Le Fashion Lab in August 2009 to create more options for studying fashion – more affordable, fewer prerequisites, no waste of your time and money! She created the syllabi and curriculum for all the classes, with a step-by-step approach to perfecting students’ skills in the most efficient manner possible – doing away with all unnecessary prerequisites that keep you away from achieving your fashion goal. Additionally, she included a key component that is missing from traditional fashion college education – a thorough understanding of the designer as business owner and entrepreneur.

Prior to her fashion career, Watson was an accomplished scholar and artist. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Wesleyan College; graduating with summa cum laude honors with a triple major in Film & Media Communication, Studio Art, and Advertising & Marketing. She is also the author of “How to Earn a 4.0 GPA,” available on Amazon.
